ANNUAL CHRISTMAS WALK!

A Mendon Town Hall Christmas
A walk into a wintery wonderland starts the Holiday spirit as you enter the 18th annual Mendon Christmas Festival of Trees.  The event will be held on December 2nd and 3rd at the historic Town Hall in downtown Mendon, Ohio.

The Town Hall Christmas was started in 1999 by a group of people who loved the Christmas season and wanted to share this special time of year with you.  Over 90 trees will be decorated by individuals, families, businesses and special interest groups for viewing.  Both the inside and outside of the town hall will be decked out in Holiday finery.

The Town Hall was constructed in 1903 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.   History buffs will enjoy the building, which in the past once housed the local jail and library as well as other community offices on the ground floor.  The second floor was used as an opera house and theater with its original wood seats and a sloping floor.  The stage backdrop was last painted in 1930 and highlights advertising for the local merchants of that time period.

An entertainment bargain, a visit to the Town hall and tree display is just a $1.00 admission fee with refreshments included at the end of the tour.  There is no charge for children under the age of 12 when accompanied by an adult.  The town hall will be open from 6-9 PM and Friday, Dec. 2nd and 1-5:30PM on Saturday, Dec. 3rd.  An Angel, Nativity, and Veteran display will be featured at the Mendon First Church of God.  The church will have music by local talent on Friday evening and free caricatures from 2-5PM on Saturday.
A shopping extravaganza will be open with a variety of vendors in the Mendon Farm Store.

On Saturday, Santa will be in his Santa House from 1:30-4:30 PM.  There will also be free Horse-Drawn Carriage rides from 1:30-5:30 PM.

Make a trip to Mendon and enjoy the spirit of Christmas in our wonderful village.
