MENDON-UNION MEMORIAL PARK
Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Mendon-Union Memorial Park fund please make your check payable to: Village of Mendon and mail to: Village of Mendon, P.O. Box 167, Mendon, Ohio 45862. This money will be used to help construct a community building, create a new park, and maintenance on the park. Your contribution is greatly appreciated!
Residents should use caution with fire pits within the Village limits. There is to be no burning of trash or yard waste. You are permitted to cook food in your fire pit. Please be careful and use good fire safety practices. The Village has a brush collection area that is open on Saturday mornings where you can take your yard waste.
Please be advised that the Village of Mendon has an Ordinance #505.01 concerning dogs and other animals running at large. This Ordinance is for the welfare and safety of all Village residents.
- No owner, keeper, or harborer of any dog shall fail at any time to keep it either physically confined or restrained upon the premises of the owner, keeper, or harborer by a leash, tether, adequate fence, supervision or secure enclosure to prevent escape, or under reasonable control of some person.
- Whoever violates this subsection is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
Practice water conservation at home!!
Violation of zoning regulations will be handled in the following manner:
Step 1: Immediate warning from the Zoning Inspector/Mayor.
1b: If not in compliance they will be asked to stop working and take the required precautions to take care of the violation.
Step 2: A written warning will be issued by the zoning inspector. The warning shall state the violation(s) and that a lawsuit or criminal charges may be filed.
Step 3: File a lawsuit or criminal charge
Dogs are not allowed in the fenced in areas at the park. This is becoming a safety issue and we please ask that you keep your dogs out of these areas.
There are to be NO motorized vehicles of any kind on the walking path at the park.

Please keep your lawn mowed this summer. Village ordinance states that any lawn over 6 inches tall will be given a warning, after 7 days it will be mowed by the village at a cost of $100 for each occurrence.

Bottle Cap Collection
Collection location: Building across from Jim's Harley shop
Time: 9:00 am - 10:00am
Saturday, December 16th
The Village Council would like you to start collecting bottle caps. We will be recycling the caps to make benches. We will be having a collection day once a month so you can drop off your caps. More information about when and where will be coming soon.
Acceptable caps include: medicine bottle caps, milk jug caps, detergent caps, hair spray caps, toothpaste tube caps, deodorant caps, drink bottle caps, flip top caps (ketchup/mustard), spout caps(mustard), ointment tube caps, caps with recycle numbers 2, 4, 5, cottage cheese container lids, mayonnaise jar lids, yogurt lids, peanut butter jar lids, ice cream bucket lids under 8 inches, cool whip container lids, coffee can lids, cream cheese container lids, prescription bottles with labels removed.
All metal must be removed! Children will be sorting these caps.
NEVER ACCEPTABLE: metal of any kind, drink bottles, zipper bags, trigger sprayers, fast food lids, trash, food containers, soap pumps, lotion pumps, grocery bags. Let's work together to recycle and make some beautiful benches for our village!!
